This musical score is one of the most beautiful in all of film. Yes the same basic theme is repeated over and over, but when you have a theme so beautiful as the one in "Sophie's Choice," you need to repeat it over and over. Achingly beautiful music perfectly suited for one of the best films of all-time.

As a huge Meryl Streep fan...I would so recommend this soundtrack for anyone who loves beautiful soundtrack music! It is a great soundtrack and it captures the tenderness and romance of the movie. Meryl won an Academy Award for her portrayal of Sophie. It is a haunting movie and the soundtrack captures the essence of the movie itself. I definitely recommend this!!

Meryl Streep won an Oscar for her performance as Sophie. A must see for those who have not seen it. Marvin Hamlisch managed to bring the sensitivty to this heartbreaking and haunting story. Highly recommend. Some music, people, places and things are timeless. Once this becomes your posession it takes it's place amoung treasures.

Ok so its basically the same theme arranged differently ah but what a theme. A deeply moving score for the kind of film that reached its summit back then. They simply do not make them like this anymore. This is a soundtrack to play over and over for a film to cherish repeatedly.
