  • We want the Broadway version

This is definitely not a case of "Well, it's better than nothing." It would be better to have nothing.

I thought I was buying my much love "they're playing our song" from my childhood. This is not at all what I wanted, I wanted the american version. I'm sure it's lovely to some, but to me it's not the old comfy sweatshirt I remember. Can I get my money back? I can't even listen to this. So annoyed.

Why in the world would this version be the one and only version selected to be put on iTunes. The broadway version is FAR superior in both vocals and instrumentals. Why ??? Do you not have the best represented??
  • Bad clone!

Why oh why wouldn't itunes feature the far superior version by Robert Klien and Lucy Arnaz over this "mild" version is beyond me. I certainly hope it's a minor licensing issue that will soon be corrected, so that listeners can actually get Quality music for their money. Mr. Tom Conti, though probably talented, sounds like a voiceover for a cartoon character singing these tunes....
  • Where is the Broadway recording?

The U.S. [ as in NYC ] Broadway soundtrack album would indeed be nice.

  • This version is fine, but where's the Broadway recording?

The London cast performers, Tom Conti and Gemma Craven, do a nice job with the score, but why is this one the preferred recording to the original Broadway cast with Robert Klein and Lucie Arnaz? The show is a fun period piece from the early 80's, with a few disco-inflected songs; the Neil Simon book was slight but funny. But the recording is fun, and Marvin Hamlisch is always melodic. An enjoyable recording all around.
