THIS IS WHAT I MEAN, THIS IS REFRESHING, CLASSIC, AND MAKES YOU WON'T TO KEEP COMING BACK TO LISTENING TO THIS PHENOMENAL ALBUM OVER AND OVER AGAIN. THERE IS NOTHING TRITE ABOUT MR. LIPP'S COMPILATIONS, HE GRACFULLY FUSES HIP HOP BEATS, WITH A DOSE OF LOUNGE, FUNK, AND SOUL ALONG WITH A HEALTHY SIDE OF ELECTRONICA. IF YOU DON'T LIKE HIS ALBUMS, YOU ARE DEFINITELY LACKING TASTE IN WHAT GOOD MUSIC IS. NEW UPCOMING ARTISTS AND EXISITING ONES SHOULD TAKE NOTES ON ELIOTT LIPP, BECAUSE HIS SOUND IS ONE THAT IS ADAPTIVE TO THE EVER CHANGING TIMES.

As far as instrumentalized works go I think Eliot is up there with Rjd2, Prefuse, etc. The more albums he puts out the more distinct his sound becomes. Good mix of analog with loops and fewer samples then his previous work. The 30 second snippets don't do it justice!

I was skepticle at first, but every song on the album has a nice electric soft beat to it, that's just pleasant to your ears. I was more than pleased.
  • Solid Release

It's a weird feeling to step into a record store and see a high-school classmate's name on the same disc featuring acts like Telefon Tel Aviv, especially when that classmate was such a punk-rocker when he was younger. I remember Elliot Lipp as being 'one of those crazy kids' that was in a band, dressed in black, and occasionally sported a mohawk. Now I see his sound has matured into something much more like the electro cousin of Kruder and Dorfmeister, or a stripped-down Ulrich Schnauss. This is a solid release, with blunty beats, 8-bit melodies, and more than hint of Lipp's past in the live music scene. Who would have thought it came out of Tacoma?

Just stripped down beats, basically slowed down simplified breakbeats. But the melodies are really cool. It almost has a (dare i say) rock and roll vibe to it.
