One important measure of an artist is the duration of their accomplishments and ability to remain fresh and relavent over the years. Knopfler has now gone decades, and still makes music and writes songs that resonate. The guy NEVER just "mails it in", a huge credit to his attention to his craft and not just his pocketbook. 5 Stars for M.K.

It is ironic that the refreshing part of Knopfler's repetoire is his return to the familiar themes that make his music, unmistakenly his. "Smart Money" in particular; besides his vocals and guitar style, he seems to touch the likes of Buffet and Cooder and with Mark providing the whole undercurrent, that tune has been on repeat play for a very long time. I admit to dancing.

I've been a fan since Sultans days. Mr. Knopfler has aged musically so gracefully. Intriguing stories wrapped in exquisite guitar licks. He and I have grown older together. And that's worked out wonderfully for me. These days he's like a smooth sipping bourbon with a signature taste; or should I say sound,that hits just the right place with me. Glad he's still loving making music.

Please add the Deluxe version of this CD. it has 5 bonus tracks

I own all of Dire Straits albums, and all of Mark Knopfler's own projects that he did later.
FYI, There is double CD vinyl version of the album. There is a boxed set that contains entire CD, entire Vinyl version, CD with same 5 bonus tracks as Deluxe CD, and there are more bonus tracks from the vinyl double LP release. It is very expensive. The 5 bonus tracks on the CD and the bous tracks for the vinyl that are in the boxed set is very expensive. I will buy the Deluxe CD and try to figure out what songs with bonus tracks, and then fiure out of I am missing anything. You can see details on Mark Knopfler's own website or on Spotify.

5 Star reviews!!! Incredibly boring set of tunes. If this was aconcert set list I'd be sleeping within the first 20 minutes. No bounce, no life.
Two consecutive clunker CD's. I guess he's now become a balladeer. These slow ballads have become monotonous.

Mark always brings something special that never fails to soothe my soul. In a world overflowing with shallow sound-alike rehash . . . the lyrics found here are obviously composed by a master songwriter. His voice and guitar style are both recognizable in an instant, which again is refreshing in the current musical landscape.
The word "artist" gets mindlessly tossed around endlessly - however - Mark Knopfler is indeed an artist in the truest sense . . . . and this offering delivers yet again in every way.
