The Sweetest Illusion

Probably the best overall Basia album. The music is fun, yet thoughtful and moving. Really a giant of the genre.

Basia's vocals always surprise and delight me. Mmmmm. The Samba mixes with Basia's jazz vocalizations just make me feel good. On this CD, Basia does a few heartfelt slower jams, as well. Her stunning voice just gets better and better. Love this CD!

It's a shame this album didn't do as well as her others. I remember driving to Wisconsin to see her in concert during her Sweetest Illusion tour. What a great concert! I think this album was underrated.

I remember first listening to and falling in love with Basia's music back in High School. Her music is simply sublime. Basia and Danny White have created thier own genre with this album. Her music brings back so many good memories. The blending of music and form with function is impecable. A delight to the ears, heart, and soul. Anyone who had the honor of seeing "The Sweetest Illusion" tour live will understand what I mean.

Gotta try this. Great driving beat that. Basia has a great rythmic feel along with a great voice and good harmonies. Listen to the clips, if you like An Olive Tree and Third Time Lucky, get the album or at least the songs. If it isn't your cup of tea, sorry.
