I'm a huge Doors fan and this has the originals of all songs the way Jim wanted them played and his just going off with his dead cats version of break on thru is truly remarkable. I have all the albums now just getting them so I can transfer them the proper way he originally wanted the songs to be put on the album. Not the way the studio put it out.

Unquestionably one of the best live albums ever recorded. Haven't listened to the album from iTunes but the tape and the record is life changing.

The album may not contain hits like Light My Fire and The End, but it is impossible to be disappointed with this record. I very rarely buy full albums, and I am so glad I did with this one. The Alabama Song/Backdoor Man/Love Hides/Five to One medley is phenomenal. Rarer songs such as Build Me a Woman and Who Do You Love are exceptional as well. I love this record and recommend buying it.

A mantra we audiences need to hear as much today as then.

I have had this album on my ipod for years (actually The Doors In Concert version, but it's the same exact thing, except When The Music's Over is a bit shorter than the version on here at 14:49) and I figured out how to play When The Music's Over and it is AWESOME!!! Great album for a party especially When The Music's Over. The Doors In Concert version has more stuff on it including an almost 16 minute version of The End. Why didn't itunes put that one up instead of this because you would get more for your money for the same concert with 11 extra songs. Great album though. 10/10
  • Still the Best Live Doors Album

The Doors were one of those bands who could sound horrible live but, when they got things together, created mystifyingly powerful sounds live. "Absolute Live" features the latter, with every member of the group on point and in the moment. Alot of live material of the band has been put out since, but none of it matches this one for quality of both sound and performance. Highlights include the definitive version of "Celebration of the Lizard" and an intense medley of "Alabama Song/Back Door Man/Live Hides/Five To One"
  • Long live the lizard king!

you separated celebration of the lizard?.....huh?....what??????..one of the greatest live performances of all time and you separated it to make a couple of bucks....for shame itunes this is an update for my original review for all you genius people who think that "Celebration of the Lizzard" was meant to split up. "Celebration of the Lizzard" was an epic poem that Jim wrote during "Waiting for the Sun". It was actually intended to be a studio track on that album, however, the only piece to survive the final edit was "Not To Touch The Earth". Get your facts straight before you contradict me!
