  • Best Version of This Incredible Show!!! (Patti Forever!!!)

First of all I love this show!!! It combines humor and class with a 30s classic musical soundtrack. The songs are amazingly catchy with jewels like: Anything Goes, You’re the Top, I Get a Kick Out of You, Blow, Gabriel, Blow, and It’s De-Lovely. Now I know that everyone loves Sutton Foster, and she is a very talented performer, but I just don’t like her portrayal of Reno or that portrayal in general. (Yes, I’m sorry, but this will be another Patti vs. Sutton thing.) Anyway, to me Patti has always brought tact and sass to Reno that the character should have. Sutton’s version is just a bit clean for Reno. I think Patti just brought the life of the character out so much more as well as giving it her (de-)lovely voice. Unlike the most recent revival this version just has so much heart and skill that makes it an absolute Broadway classic.

Just heard that Sutton Foster will be staring in a revival cast of this! Was going to download the album, but I'm going to wait for her's instead. I like Patti LuPone, but I can't wait to hear Sutton Foster's version :)

This album would be 100000000X better if Patti LuPone wasn't playing Reno... Her voice is just awful. She has never heard of diction or tonal quality. The rest of the cast is great, the only off set is Patti, and because she sings so much it's not worth the purchase.
  • Fabulous!
