If you're looking for fresh worship songs with a strong worship message then this CD is a must addition to your collection. Arrangements and instrumentations are not cluttered but supportive of the strong lyrics and melodies. The titles alone make a strong statement. You wont play these songs just once.

Passionate and vertical is how I would describe the project titled “One” by Scott King. Scott’s passionate love for God is easily felt and draws the listener vertically in worship. As the first cut is titled, “It’s Not About Me” this is a project that is not about Scott King but his King of kings. Great worship songs and leaders draw the listener to God and the song is for God. Scoot accomplishes both of these in his project “One”.

Scott King is the real deal! He is a worship pastor who understands his role in the local church and understands his role as a worship leader. He has put his heart and soul into this CD and it shows. The driving guitars make it clear this isn't our normal worship CD. If you are looking for something that has a new and fresh sound this is the CD for you. The CD is worth the price for the song Over and Over by itself. GREAT CD!

Scott King has taken worship music to a new level with his cd titled "One". The amount of soul and energy he has humbly devoted shows in tracks such as "It's not about me". His voice combined with a solid guitar background makes this song come alive as you listen to it. The title track “One” drives its message home with a passion that only Scott and his band can deliver. There is even a fantastic use of a choir on "Palm Sunday". The rest of the cd is a pleasing eclectic mix of ballads, indie folk and rock. But the track that stands out in this reviewer's mind is "Lost". It is a piano solo that tugs at the heart strings. I couldn't figure out why until I read the background inside the sleeve. It shows the despair when a person is lost and doesn’t know Christ. Scott did a great job of capturing everyday life and all of its glory, the good along with the bad, which we all go through on this cd.

I really felt God's anointing on the music. I'm not sure I can pick a favorite because I enjoyed each song. That's a rarity. The lyrics and vocals are worshipful and inspiring. The instrumentation is excellent, especially the electric guitar leads. I liked the instrumentals too, especially Lost. This is my kind of music!

On this album Scott King does an amazing job of capturing the true meaning of worship in 10 well written songs. The melodies are definitely such that could be sung in a Sunday morning church service. The first few songs are upbeat and make you want to keep pressing the repeat button. However, my favorites are closer to the end: Turning Toward Jerusalem and Palm Sunday. Go out and buy this album! Looking forward to more from this talented songwriter!
