This is an outstanding effort by two up and coming musicians during the mid-70's. The first song was the "hit" along with the title track but Westward Wind is one of their best career cuts. The music here feels effortless throughout and has a timeless and memorable quality. The iTunes review is slightly off-base and misleading in comparing to Dan Fogelberg, since most of DF's material that may be comparable to material here came after this album in the late 70's and early 80s. One interesting side comment that listeners should check out....that is Dan's brother Jim (Seals and Crofts) playing a "mean" fiddle in Showboat Gambler. Overall--nicely done.

Yep, I admit it, I love happy peppy music with lots of harmonies and this record... ahem... title has plenty. If I remember correctly, this was one of the albums I had to buy a couple of times because I kept wearing it out! LOL! For me, I just couldn't help singing along to "Westward Wind" and "Everything is gonna to be alright". Listening to it again, I like all of the tracks, but those 2 and the 2 hits are unforgettable. Listening to this with my girlfriend in my dorm room, having "the munchies" (if you know what I mean...) and somehow being late to class...ahhh, those innocent days before std's and being an adult with a family... Don't put to much thought in to this music, just enjoy it for we will never see this kind again. I consider that a BAD thing....

I can't go a day without listening to this at least once. This is yet another prime example of the fact you don't need to curse to make good music. Dare I say that this is a guilty pleasure of mine.
  • Nights are Forever is still awesome!

I forgot how much I loved this album! I borrowed the old 8-track from my mother way back when and lost it. Now I'm downloading the album to send to her for Mothers Day......I know she will be so happy to hear it again! These guys were true artists!!

I guess there's something about the albums you bought and listened to when you were a senior in high school that makes them among your favorites. That's what this one is for me. I can still remember laying on my bed and chillin out while the LP played on my stereo. I really like all these songs, but my favorite is probably "Lady". If you're a child of the '70's and like the soft-rock or easy-listening style, this is a perfect addition to your collection. Or, if you're parents were teens in the 70's, you might find these classic songs start to grow on you, especially if you're a love-struck 16 year old guy.
