I was a little concerned with getting her solo stuff, but this is really good. It is more hard edged than the Indigo's but still good. Its tough to get everything right when you need a full album instead of a half. She comes through almost all the time. Rabbit Foot is amazing as is SLC Radio.

The 4th solo release from Indigo Girl and Daemon Records founder, Amy Ray. Never one to be set in her musical ways, Ray continues to grip firmly with her distinctive arsenal of grounded lyrics, alternative rock and rich, raw vocals. Amy's 4th reaches further to bridge melody with unprocessed performance to arrive at a sweet, truthful center.

This is a great CD. I bought it expecting it to sound like the Indigo Girls and it didn't and I loved it anyway. It's so worth it. Amy is a great writer and singer. I highly reccomend this album. I can't wait to get her other two solos.

From the funky bluesish introspective She's Got to Be to the deep understanding of others and intense beat of Gun, Gun, Amy's nailed another album as a winner and an incredible artist. T

It doesn't matter if she's playing with Emily, the Butchies or by herself, Amy never disappoints. If you've missed out on her catalog, then you're cheating yourself. Her albums are some of my favorite drinkin' music in the entirety of Dixie.

The newest in a line of amazing projects for Amy Ray, is absolutley touching and heartwarming. The entire feel of the album is like going over to Amy's home, sitting on her livingroom sofa and listening to her play just for you. I love the overtones of harmony and the topics ranging from a strong love, to gender poilics. I would recommend this to everyone and can't wait to play it for them, then send them out to purchase it for themsleves. Bravo Ms. Amy, once again, well done.

For anyone who's just stumbled across this, check Amy Ray out. I'm downloading the album as I write so I haven't listened to it yet. From past experience with Indigo Girls and solo Amy Ray albums (2 studio, one live) this one will be at least a 4-star album. If you like folk, roots-rock, slightly hard rock, Amy Ray is one of the most talented vocalist-lyricist-composer-musicians alive. The range of her styles as evidenced in her IG and solo careers is immense. Do yourself a favor and get into Amy Ray.

This album is so fantastic, and it's different from a lot of her Indigo Girls stuff. It really represents what roots rock is, and a lot of the tracks are really really catchy, like "Didn't It Feel Kinder," or "Birds of a Feather," for example. Everyone should definitely listen to this and decide for themselves, but I don't think you'll be disappointed at all! Five stars all the way!
