What a refreshing set of music, very fulfilling — it scratches that itch you have for real rootsy bluegrass but can’t seem to reach with any modern country music. But still, it has deceptively catchy melodies — you’ll be humming along pretty quickly. I love the thoughtful mix of instruments — more Hammond B3 ! — and the vocals / harmonies are layered and truly gorgeous. It feels and sounds genuine, like everything Amy does — the real thing from a real pro. Nice work, Amy !
  • Going to be some classics on this one!

The songwriting gets deeper and more personal with this album, yet it has a broad appeal with some great catchy tunes. Having listened to it a few times, it now is in top rotation. More Pills, Time Zone, Goodnight Tender all songs we should be hearing in the circuit and radio. Impressive how something great gets even greater. Classic for sure.

So many fantastic songs and artists. Love "Anyhow" but every song on this album touches a bit of my soul. Do yourself a favor and let the spirit of this album take hold... Amy has outdone herself.

If you enjoy classic country music, this album will not disappoint. IMO best Amy Ray solo project to date.

I am just going through the samplings right now and I am in love. I have listened to the IG since i was in sixth grade. I am 36 now. I never got into Amy's solo projects until now. I have always loved the twangier Indigo girls songs-I love them all-however Amy has a way of singing to the soul on her country type songs. I plan on buying. Broken record is already my favorite.

She only seems to get better and better. This album sounds rich and mature in its vocals and arrangements. What a great album! A+

So far I've only heard Hunter's Prayer... and it was amazing. I'm 40 and I've loved the Indigo Girls since I was 14 but this is VERY different from IG music and even more divergent from the "angry fem rock" that is Amy's usual fare. Ok maybe not all of it is different, but Hunter's Prayer is. Hunter's Prayer sounds like something Hank Williams Sr would have done. Like something my 70 year old very southern father would love. And yet I love it, too. Good stuff. I'm excited to hear the rest!
