Johnny Cash made this a hit. So did Ray Charles, and so did John Conlee. This stands alongside each of the many different takes on the tune that came before it. And it helps that Patty is a goddess. She rarely records something that is not of the highest quality.

This release, like so many of Patty Loveless' recordings, is modern bluegrass at its best. You can hear the influences of mountain music but the technical prowess of a 21st century master. The hook is catchy and the lyrics are pertinent to what is happening in our economy today. This is real country music, performed by one of the greats.

This is a song that isn't your nomral country type of song. She sounds a little bit like a terri clark to me but that's good! Its a slower song with not so much band as it is singer. This song is just so mellow and pleasant to listen to
