This album is a masterpiece. I’ve known about it for a long time and loved “Leviticus: F****t” but just recently started listening to the entire album am I’m blown away by the depth, the melodies, the passion. Unreal

Where to start...First, the subject matter. Man’s inhumanity to man through the lense of religion (first few tracks); desire and jealousy (“Mary Magdalene”, “Stay”, “Who Is He.. - my favorites). Tough subjects wrapped in seductive grooves and vocals. To me this is one of the best albums I’ve ever heard and transports me to another place every time I listen.

...I know I reviewed this excellent album around ten years ago. It's simply a masterpiece. 'Nuff said.

I purchased this album many years ago on the strength of a sample at a music store's kiosk. I purchased it immediately and ripped it from its cellophane as I left the store. I was overcome by it's honesty and depth and it remains to this day high among my list of all-time favorite albums. Not merely a collection of songs, it's more like a roadmap of an artist's soul; an artist of depth, unique perspective and experience who sings of hope and passion, hurt and survival. Moving, visceral, raw and funky, I have shared and recommended this album for years. And I will continue to do so.

I agree with the other reviewers...stunning how no one has left a review about this album and her many other albums. Hands down one of the most talented and gifted musical genius our own times. I love how she has refused to foresake the art for commercial acclaim. This album I have listened to some many times the darn CD just stop working! If you like this album be sure to check out Bitter. In the realm of fakers, marketable faces, non singing so called musicians, Me'Shell is far above the rest...let's support true artist, especially brilliant artist like her!

It amazes me that this album has so few reviews. I don't recall how I came across this musical magic but it is a mind blower. Incredible musicians, incredible music. It is too magical for words and it pains me to think that this music may not get the attention it deserves. Trust me, if you have not heard this album, buy it. It is beautiful on so many levels. I have concerns though that the iTunes download will not have the sonic quality that the CD has. Part of the beauty of this music is how beautiful and rich it sounds. iTunes does not provide the highest quality downloads at this time - hopefully soon though.

I love this album. When I first bought it back in the 90's I wore the cd out. Super chill and slow burning.

I am in awww that no one had wrote a review on this album! BRILLIANT! To me, hands down the BADDEST female bass player on the planet!! Peace Beyond Passion is one of my favorite CD's ever! From start to finish, every track is awesome! Her lyrics/poetry is off the chain as always! Plus the thing i love about Me'Shell is that she dosen't stay in a box with her music! She does it all! With help from Wendy and Lisa(Prince and the Revolution), she pulls off a masterpiece! Youre gonna love this album! To the sick bassline of The Way(funkiest bassline i've heard in a while!) the funkiness/jazz vibe of Deuteronomy, the smoothness of Stay, and the sadness of Make Me Wanna Holler. You've gotta feel this record!
