the more i hear from todd carey, the more i like him as an artist. for me this is his best album yet. he just keeps growing as a singer, songsmith, guitarist, artist. i love the production work on this album, super, super clean! i wont bore you with the reasons i like each song, but they are all TOP QUALITY. for me for you, i want you to listen to this record, and really absorb it, it will do wonders for your soul. here is what i know..... 1-This record rocks, plain and simple, good from start to finish 2-Todd is a good, really good guitarist. 3-you have to see him live...great live show, great energy, sounds just as good, maybe better, live. 4-keeps getting better. his older stuff, is solid, this is a new level. im not sure how he does it, but he does. do this, buy it, give it a (digital) spin....you wont be disappointed....truly you wont be...

Todd Carey has tremendous innate musical talent - and his artistry is highly evident on his long-awaited new EP, "After the Morning After." Having heard several of these songs live, it's nice to listen to the full studio renditions, and they don't disappoint. "The First Day" is even more powerful and motivating after repeat listens, and "Gotta Be Next to you" and "The Kind of Man I Am" really resonate strongly with me for personal reasons. Todd taps into "my life" quite well with his music. If you tend to like talented singer-songwriters and haven't listened to Todd Carey, check this EP out, as well as his fantastic full-length album, "Watching Waiting." And, if he's coming to your area for a live show, GO. You will enjoy his performance - and he's a super-nice guy, too.

I've been waiting a long time for new music from Todd Carey, and this EP was well worth the interim. The title track offers a glimpse into the life of a touring musician. "The First Day" conveys a great message about hope for the future, which is appropriate this time of year with so many graduations. "The Kind of Man I Am" and "Where Are You Tonight" convey two different sides of matters of the heart. Of course, "Gotta Be Next To You," which was previously released as a single is magic as well. Love it all. Can't wait for the next full length release. In the meantime, this is a great addition to my collection. Thanks, Todd!
