    This singer in all her albums picks great songs! This one is for women because all the songs are about the experiences of ladies .....from heartache to joy. Her other albums have strong themes. She is probably one of the most intellegent and challenging singers around. If for some reason you best friend is out of town and you have problems....pick one of her albums and there will be a song that tells you about your troubles.

    If you purchase one CD by Shemekia, this is the album! Also, you have to see her in concert. She puts on a great show and can belt out a song like nobody's business!

    Shemekia's third cd (produced by Dr. John) is just plain fun. Lots of great blues songs with great hooks and fun lyrics. "Happy Valentine's Day" is just Shemekia and a piano (great stuff).
