The Clash (2013 Remastered)

I love... this Clash album. UK version going in to my book, ahh thank god. Their style matters.

Great rock n roll debut record by one of the greatest pure rock n roll bands to ever grace the face of this earth. If you don't like The Clash, you don't like rock n roll. Play loud!!

The greatest punk rock record of all time !!!

the clash without i fought the law and white man in hammersmith palais isn't complete. i bought the us version on cd and amazon gave me the uk version download for free. either way a great album

The Clash 77 is a classic moment in history just as Never mind the bollocks. The album sound is raw, thin and rough. Definitely, not a production masterpiece. Even so, few debuts ever rocked that hard, felt so rough...the sound is defined not necessarily by heaviness or style but to anger and intentions, belonging to a unique time in history when political and social turmoil produce a few speakers. It's hard to pinpoint a song since the entire UK edition is so balanced. However, "London's Burning" is a high point with its acid humor about driving in London as is "White Riot's" sheer rebellion call while "I'm so bored" is the Clash taking on US foreign policy methods. The Album set the tone for the Band's career; clever, cunning social view with an eye on history and sensible conclusions. And they meant every word of it.....

A perfect album to kick off one of the worlds top 5 bands

This clash album is amazing. If you haven't listened to the clash yet get this album. It's one of those albums where none of the songs are bad. You can listen to it forever and never get bored of it.

Finally! After so long, they've gotten the English version back up. While we're all use to the US version, I personally prefer the British version because it has all the original tracks, short, simple, rough, quick, and says it all within the entire album. In short, it is the best album from The Clash of all, and def worth having. Get it!

A seminal album of the British punk scene and one of the best recordings of the late 1970s, but dreadful sound — muddy and barely garage-band quality. The entire treble range is curiously absent. The difference between this and Give 'Em Enough Rope, recorded 18 months later, is remarkable. The reason, of course, is that they made such an impression with the first album that they got a decent studio and tech team for the second release. Horrible sound aside, if you like the band or are interested in the roots of punk, this is an essential part of history.
