The amazing and talented Liz Story shines once again on the wonderful Night Sky Essays. So broad is her view on music that she makes others look like complete amateurs. As one reviewer wrote, there is a little melloncholy in Liz's work, but there are some really sweet moments too. My favorite track from this album is Capricorn. It reminds me of another piece of hers called Church of Trees that is absolutely fantastic. Listen, Buy & Enjoy.

Those of you who thirst for Liz Story's melancholic phrases or mood tempting joys will not be disappointed. There are harmonics that I have not heard from her previous releases, but you will be drawn to sit with her, listen to where she is taking you in your moods and smile, as she resolves her tension and sorrow into the quiet joy she brings to you. This is an album for quiet listening, reflecting, thinking and smiling behind the tears she will evoke. Another great album from a wonderful woman.

A lovely effort. See if you don't leave itunes to repeat "Aries" for an hour or so. Lovely stuff, I think of it more as jazz/classical than new age. She has more sophisticated soul than almost anyone playing today and I wish the world would wake up and take notice. Great stuff Liz, keep it up.

I've been a big fan of Liz Story's since she was on Windham Hill years ago. Her music is thoughtful and interesting and different, but with a throughline that holds up album after album. There's something a little melancholy in all of her music, and this is the perfect collection. Check out my iMixes for other new age, yoga, meditation & massage music.
