Not much to say. Takes back to ‘68-‘69 and then back to day because so much of this still seems relevant. God Bless Their Pointed Little Heads.

If when “If you feel” comes on you you should immediately reach to turn the volume UP. This is a great album from a colorful, at times crazy and more often expansive place. It captures what was happening in the San Francisco scene and the Airplane was perhaps its very best band. Jorma’s guitar work is fantastic really really fantastic. Jack’s bass is serious and tied to Jorma. Grace’s singing is so clear, so precise and so freaking militant …what a band.

It's less ambitious (no "suites") and less psychedelic than "After Bathing at Baxter's," but it's still quite good. Best bets are "Lather", one of Grace's best ever; Kantner's title track; and his "In Time", which sounds a lot like "Martha" from the previous album. Have you noticed that Jorma's "Star Track" is basically his arrangement of "Death Don't Have No Mercy" with different lyrics? Thought so...
  • One of the great ones

When I was much younger in my way early 20's, maybe even late teens, I had been a child a varied music tastes. From the first song I can remember, from A.M. radio at about three years old, I can see clearly now the rain is gone, to Elvis, to seeing Yellow Submarine, when I was way young and then late on Tommy and then even later The Wall. I was a fan of Disco and even had a silky disco shirt I wore when that horrible dance show came on. I knew some about rock and eventually was lured into Kiss by a cousin. I quickly discovered a way better band watching Sha Na Na with my father one Saturday night in which the Ramones played, I think my father hated them, I loved them and that silly movie in which they ate a lot of pizza. Eventually I would discover Rap and Hip Hop. By my late teens I started getting sick of buying rap albums with one good song on them and turned my focus to some of the people those records sampled like Jimi Hendrix. I was looking for some Hendrix at a garage sale one day and found this along side the great one. I bought it out of a flook at took it home for a listen. I must have listened to this a thousand times. That was my classic rock phase. There is great song on here that would make a great cover tune even today…If You Feel. This is a great album all the way through and is one of the heights of late 60s Psychedelia. What makes this album work is that it is soft music I mean way soft, that never bores you and is not real difficult to take in. This will grow on you if you have never heard it and if you have you know what I mean.

Without a doubt one of the greatest recordings of the era. Masterpiece is being gentle. This is the Airplane at the top of their game. Do yourself a big favor and buy this. If you have never listened to Jefferson Airplane, buy this. And if you have fond memories of what this album promised and represented well, wasn't it great?

This is a truly great album. Jefferson Airplane does a great job combining rock sounds, psychedelic aspects, and amazing lyrics. Definitely worth buying.
