  • LRB paint by numbers

Another paint by numbers "LRB" release featuring no original members or key classic songwriters involved. The remaining hired hands and later stage LRB salaried musicians try to evoke the LRB vibe but with severely dimished returns. It's not LRB and at this point the name should just be left to the ages. It's getting embarassing and sad. Doesn't that cover just ooze with inspration too? Kind of sums it all up...Sad sad sad

With all respect to Pete Best do you really think the Pete Best Band (which did/does exist) could ever sound like the Beatles? Lennon and McCartney were the soul of the Beatles just as Birtles, Shorrock and Goble were the soul of LRB. Take the soul out of a band and what do you get? And BTW, if this "LRB" was so great, successful and comfortable why the big legal stoush? Make up you own mind. If it was me I sure as hell would feel threatened by the real deal who intended to tour the States who would blow these guys off stage if only for the reason they are doing their own songs (plus they are better vocally). In the end the US missed out. Good luck to this "LRB" as they have carved a niche. But to me it's on the back of someone's else's hits and name. Being legally entitled to a name does not make you morally that entity. Wonder why they have never toured Australia in this format? They are Australian right? That's what a voice intro to a live song on another album by this LRB says. I know why. Cause they are LRB in name only and would be exposed for what they are. A cover band who can call themselves LRB. If you are happy with a LRB cover band doing their own songs then you may like this album. But dont think it is new material from the real LRB. Look for Birtles Shorrock and Goble if u want the REAL DEAL!

Another great record by the Little River Band. Wayne Nelson and Steve Housden have been mainstays with this group for over 25 years. It's unfortunate for some to not give them the credit they deserve. All associated with this group over the years since its inception have sang their hearts out. This record continues that tradition, as did Birtles, Goble, Shorrock, Farnsworth etc. with their performances. Thank you all for what you have and continue to contribute to the excellence that is the Little River Band.

Why complain about BSG and LRB? It's like if Pete Best decided to tour playing Beatles songs. Every person you guys describe had left the band on their own YEARS ago. Wayne Nelson and Steve Housden have collectively been in the band longer than ANYONE and Wayne was in the band for the biggest selling album back in 1979. See a show and you'll understand. These songs are performed perfectly and with care. Great guys, by the way and if you ever get a chance to talk to them about the rift, they would tell you themselves that they weren't happy with how things turned out. Many attempts to work out a deal with the BSG guys to no avail. There are two sides to every story, you know. Back to the subject...this is a great album of original tunes that proves that they're not just a "cover band".

You guys should keep performing what a great sound that you all have what great harmony it is. I miss hearing you guys on the radio. Get some more music out there for us please. mdolph88
