This is the fake version of the Little River Band that currently owns the name. No original members and shoddy production.

  • Legal entity not a band

Glenn Shorrock inexplicably gave away the rights to the legal name of the band. These covers sound abominable, like some cheesy lounge lizard band. Maybe we should get Bill Murray to sing "Star wars, nothin' but star wars" instead. It would be about as good. And at least it would be funny. Don't buy this, don't support guys who stole the LRB name.
  • This IS not the Real Little River Band!

This is essentially a cover band that unfortunately got the name through legal wrangling. The people that wrote and sang the hits you love are not on this recording. Buyer Beware!!!!!!

This updated version of the LRB songs contains refreshed arrangements and beautifully satisfying vocals, provided by 30 year LRB veteran Wayne Nelson (Chicago born & bred). Back in the day, Glenn (their first lead vocalist and founder) ultimately shared the vocal duties with Bassist Wayne Nelson because Wayne's vocals were/are too great to ignore. Needless to say, Wayne took over on lead vocals, adding stability to the band. I've met Wayne and one of my best friends is his best friend-great guy, incredible singer & musician. The revamped Cool Change is a gorgeous rendition of one of the greatest 50 songs in music history. Purchasing this LP is a no-brainer-an absolute pleasure that will have you tapping your toes in time to the catchy hooks- Kudos to The Little River Band for surviving rock's fickle universe for 43 years!
  • Not really LRB

You won't find any original members perfroming on these tracks. I suppose it fills a void for those LRB fans who clamor for anything new or different but I'm not buying it. A pale imitation of what once was.

As an old fan of LRB,I must say this is a very good rendition of their best music 30 years after. So please if you want the old originals there's plenty of that around but as for this remake is as fresh and enjoyable as reminiscing of sweet times gone by. Thanks for the music LRB.
  • Not EVEN the Little River Band

Anyone who thinks this band, and the current touring company, are the Little River Band is sadly mistaken. The band's personnel has changed, with past, present, and future members coming and going through a revolving door so much that it's hard to keep track without a program. Of the current members, only bass player & lead singer Wayne Nelson has any tenure having joined the band in 1980. He was not the original lead singer on their most famous albums and was not significant writer of their songs. He took over as the primary vocalist in 2000. He may have been with the band, of and on, for much of 30 years, but he has not been the lead singer for that length of time. Unfortunately, the REAL Little River Band, the original artists that wrote most of the hits and give it their distinctive sound, lost the rights to band's music through the many personnel changes and iterations of the band, and can no longer tour under the name LRB. Though the current group produces a reasonable facsimile of the original music, it is definitely not the same and is lacking in many respects. The distinctive timing and rhythms are gone with much of the arrangements taking on a schmaltzy ballad like feel. By and large, their touring schedule is reduced to small clubs, casinos, theaters and fairs. Having worked on the original recording of "Sleeper Catcher", I'll stick to the original recordings and arrangements, by the original members, and not taint my memory of them with this "new sound".

@macc61- there is an Aussie still in the group. And the lead singer has been with LRB for most of the last 30 years.
