This album was originally called Lysol until the brand told Boner Records to stop the use of the name for the album. It bothers me that iTunes has the entire album as one song... I have included the tracklist below: 1. Hung Bunny 0:00 2. Roman Dog Bird 10:42 3. Sacrifice 18:20 4. Second Coming 24:31 5. The Ballad of Dwight Fry 25:45 6. With Teeth 28:56 The only reason I have given this album 4 out of 5 stars is the fact that it is all sold as one song.

Sleep would not exist if this album (Lysol) were not made. Sadly, this is the end of the Melvins for me.

…… thats a joke. I still have my orig CD with the little strip of black tape over the title. The modified "black tape" cover art ?? Maybe either Buzz or Dale realized they were 1/16th Siwash from Wasington's Columbia River Basalt Plateau … or maybe after the humor of it all finally settled down) cause it does sound like an ancient American Indian Peyote Ritual, only who needs peyote when lysol is $1.25 …… as far as I'm concerned it educated a lot of people about the indigenous plight and alcoholism. Whatever the case, it was even better LIVE -- its a GREAT, must Have!! I saw them play LYSOL twice in about 3 days time with Primus (squeezing out the Seas of Cheese). this record is EPIC!! If you're a newbee or you finally WOKE UP to the Melvins sensability, GET IT NOW! … its probably the first LEP and the first of many other things that have come after.

Just edging out Bullhead and Gluey Porch Treatments as well as Ozma and Houdini (I love early Melvins.) Lysol (as it was originally released) is one full stream of the Melvins absolute best sludge, drone, heaviness with capricious stoner qualities abounding. It also manages to drone on in one session without ever getting old, it manages to be a very tight album album at the same time that makes you immediately come back for more. Another thing about it is that it's sold here as one long song (at around 30+ min. it's actually short for an album) that seems daunting. It's actually comprised of six songs including three covers. The tracks are: 1. Hung Bunny - 10:42 min 2. Roman Dog Bird - 7:38 min 3. Sacrifice - 6:07 min (Awesome Flipper cover) 4. Second Coming - 1:14 min (Alice Cooper cover) 5. The Ballad of Dwight Fry - 3:11 min (Another Alice Cooper cover that's has a bluesy sound that sounds entertainingly out of place on the album, but fits) 6. With Teeth - 2:25 If you like Melvins at all, don't pass this up, I did originally, and now I'm telling you not to.

And it's a full-length album on one track, so stop bellyaching about the price.
  • Purely awesome, Melvins at their finest...

It's almost pointless to ever write a review, as I assume that anyone who actually looks at this is already a fan of Melvins. That said, this album owns HARD. If you liked GPT, Ozma, and Bullhead, you are guaranteed to like this. Of course, you probably already know that. MELVINS: NOT A "JOKE ON MUSIC"

I might have bought the song if iTunes wasn't making me buy it for $9.99! That's pretty low if I do say so myself.
