  • Doesn’t get any better than this!

This album was my saving grace after a very unwelcoming home from Vietnam. It was the first purchase of anything other than maybe a butterfinger candy bar after my arrival home and I wore the vinyl version out. To this day it is my go to album for the road. It never ever gets old! Steven Stills best stuff right here!

Stephen Stills’ magnum opus. I’ve been listening to this music in every form since i bought the original vinyl in 1973. Every song a little gem, all woven together into a beautiful trip. And if you can’t get moving to the ultimate funk sounds of “Love Gangster”, then you just ain’t alive!

When looking for something else I ran across this album. As a fan of all of the group but only vaguely aware of this album's existence, I am deeply grateful that this was in my path on my way to another song. Incredible. Thank you.

Just wanted to put in my two cents. One of the best albums ever. Was. Is. Always.

How this album was left out of the "Rolling Stone Greatest 500 Albums Of All Time" is beyond me. It is good to see so many great reviews here for they are well deserved. If you are looking for an eclectic Americana music collection look no further. Stephen Stills created a remarkable run of music for 6 years begining with 1966's Buffalo Sprinfield and ending with this great record, a culmination of his youthful genius. If you want to sample I suggest "Jet Set", "So Begins The Task", "It Doesn't Matter", and "The Treasure". However, due to the nature of the album's cohesive 4 part concept, the sum is greater than the parts

The band is called Manassas, not Stephen Stills. Stephen Stills is in the band. This is their debut album. Puzzled as to why iTunes wants to refer to the artist as just Stephen Stills when that is clearly not the case. I guess it sells more music that way, but it's wrong.

Saw this band at Boston Garden in 1972... thought I was going to see Stills alone and instead got this whole band pretty much playing this whole LP on stage. It was a terrific show, I have had the album for 35 years and still give it listen often. Every once in a while I hear a band do a cover of one of these chestnuts on stage. They have an even lesser known follow up LP Down the Road that is also worth a listen. Better than anything Stills has done since the first solo LP.
