This soundtrack is amazing. His style blends beautifully with the Cirque brand. Even if you haven't seen the show, I encourage you to by the music, close your eyes and imagine. Marvelous!

Danny Elfman's film scores tend to be hyperkinetic but often lack a strong melodic component. In his Cirque score he manages to weave beautiful thematic melodies around his signature percussive beats. The result is arguably his best work ever. If only he'd allow himself this kind of melodic indulgence in his film scores….

I've been a fan of Cirque du Soleil music for a long time now, and though not every album is good, their good ones are often REALLY good. After the mediocre "Zed", the skippable "Ovo", and the entertaining "Totem", they come back strong and grand with "Iris". It has a very fresh, big, passionate feel to it than their recent albums. "Ka" is closest to this album in the emotion conveyed in the music, only "Iris" is a little softer with an exciting presentation. It has a huge feel to it without sounding too huge, and when you're done listening, you want to go right back in and start over again. Definitely Cirque du Soleil's best music in some time.
Took Leave from Iraq to See this Live!

I wanted to take my wife to California while taking leave from Iraq. We saw Iris live and I even asked if they would have the soundtrack. Even if you just listen to this, the performance and the music was ever so inspiring. It has heart, character, depth, and the music has meaning. I am glad it is finally released as I am in Iraq again downloading this album.
