I absolutely love this album, it is there best work. While You spin me round is the one it's known for, but the other tracks are amazing as well. If you want a fun 80s throwback, pick this up.

Yeah, everyone knows that one song that made them famous, but there are so many more gems on this album that should have been bigger mega-hits. I had no idea the last track was an ode to Led Zeppelin. Pete Burns was/is larger than life. This album put them on the map...

It's a great album. Dead or Alive is one of best pop disco bans in the 80's. This album has great songs! It's worth spending money on this album!

I'm from 90's but grew up with 80's music and this particular song its the best ever. Have it on repeat all times and its the only song I hear! (And some 80's hits too of course) Awesome song, great job for Dead Or Alive and Pete Burns!
  • "Youthquake," indeed

Amazing from start to end. From the kinetically demanding -- and ultimately most commercial and recognizable -- "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)," to the scintillating -- and widely unknown ode to Led Zeppelin -- "Been a Long Time," this album performs more than any major Top-40 album -- let alone "gender-bender" -- release of '84-'85. While some of the syncopation and musicality has dated itself, still others continue to transport the party to another place and time. Many current sounds on this record are still repeated today, which makes this album far more relevant than its given credit for... A must for any dance -- let alone 80s -- enthusiast!
  • It ruled the dance floor!

Not many albums can claim to have ruled the club dance floor in its day, but "Youthquake" was one of those rare gems. In the mid-eighties, I used every single track of this album to power the dance floor. Big Daddy of The Rhythm, indeed!

With Dead or Alive's debut Sophisticated Boom Boom a fast and a good starter going into Youthquake anyone would have high hopes for this great 1980s synth-pop group. Of course the #1 single, "You Spin Me Round(Like a Record)" did make the group as a stand out in the United Kingdom. The other great hits from this album include, "DJ Hit that Button", "Lover Come Back(To Me)", and "My Heart Goes Bang(Get Me To the Doctor)". This album unlike Sophisticated Boom Boom, Youthquake doesn't have many weak points other than the last track on here, "It's Been a Long Time" being the longest track and the only weak track of the album. Youthquake proved Pete Burns' ability to sing and create catchy and upbeat synth songs, it will stand out as being one of the best albums of the 1980s.
