Without Fleetwood Mac, the only thing f4om him worthwhile has been the theme from the movie, "Vacation!"

Think I'm in Trouble Especially since I can't get my ear off of that song. Leftover from Tusk? Not sure but I hear Stevie Nicks on that track and some McVie-ness thrown in. A real Gem of a tune for those stuck in a warp understanding the mood of Lindsey Buckingham. This emotional time for him was quite obviously relayed through his voice. Can't get enough

Buckingham's solo work has been ambitious, elaborate and, all too frequently, underwhelming. I'm a HUGE fan and admirer, but for my money his finest solo work can be found on Tusk. Do this: make a playlist including the just the Buckingham numbersfrom Tusk (title track included). THAT album- the Buckingham-only Tusk, I mean- is one of my top ten all time favorites: rocking, edgy endlessly listenable and one-of-a-kind- nothing else sounds like it. THIS album is good, no question. Starting w/ 'Bwana' you know you're in Buckingham-land: the vocals layered majestically over a catchy pop ditty about I -don't-know--what. Then there's the single, "Trouble" which is an absolute masterpiece: a perfect pop number cut from the Fleetwood Mac cloth. ...then the thing starts to wander. "Mary Lee Jones" sounds like a Buckingham riff on 50's doo-wop- good enough. "September Song" is fine. Things pick up again with 'Shadow of the West', another rumination on California in a succession of same. In case you missed the point, there's "That's How We Do it In LA". 'Trouble' is the only really indispensible cut. His later albums make this one most welcome in terms of it's being the last time he'd use this particular style of engineering and arrangement. Things get more digitized later and, for me, the sound suffers gravely in consequence- way too bright and toppy.

How has one not reviewed this yet? Especially since this album as been around for as long as I have! I am certain that once you hear these tracks, it shall take you a moment but you'll then think to yourself, "oh! i have heard this before!" and you won't be able to get enough of it. Ironically, I was always more of a Lindsey Buckingham solo fan myself.. this musician is beautifully amazing. Definitely a classic album, and one worth downloading right now...
