Unbeliveable, Nobuo Uematsu is just simply amazing.
Uematsu in a different style

Over the years I have grown to appreciate the astounding music Uematsu writes in the various Final Fantasy games and later in Blue Dragon, and after a couple listens through it became clear this is definately not his stardard style. But his new approach to jazz was done successfully, with only a couple short songs sounding repetitive. Starting off strong with the song Toneless, piano back up some good vocals. Appearing at the end of this album, the Keisuke Egusa Quartet add some solid jazz standards, which are listenable by all audiences. At the price of ten bucks, this album is cheap for the content. So while this is laid back for Uematsu, this is a must have for anyone who enjoys listening to jazz or uematsu's music.

For Nobuo Uematsu to keep surprising me nearly 20 years after the release of his first masterpiece, Final Fantasy for the Famicom(NES) is no small feat. A light blend of lounge jazz and emotionally driven piano is a nice departure from the quick punchy symphonic work he had become famous for. With his work on the Black Mages you always knew he wanted to go different routes and this album shows that he can still tug at our heart strings as well as prove he can be as diverse in any game genre. If you are looking for the sweeping epic themes of Final Fantasy then you will not find it here. This is a relaxing, background music album that you will still fall in love with after the 3rd track.
Nobuo shares his take on Jazz, and proves once again he is the best at what he does.
