Just like the DS game itself, this soundtrack is a great update of an overlooked series classic. A lot of people remember IV's soundtrack, but I actually believe III has more standout tracks. This is when Uematsu really started to lend the series an epic quality. Stand out tracks are:
Eternal Wind
Battle 2 (Boss theme)
The Boundless Ocean
Princess Aria
Doga and Unei
The Crystal Tower
The Dark Crystals
The Last Battle
Definitely a worthy addition for any Final Fantasy or Uematsu fan.
Brilliantly remastered.

Tsuyoshi Sekito and Keiji Kawamori should really be given a lot of praise for their efforts in recreating one of the best video game soundtracks from the entire NES era. Although they are not credited here for their work, it was not Nobuo alone who helped to turn this amazing soundtrack into an even more amazing one, which somehow still retains the same exact nostalgic charm it originally possessed. Square-Enix went to great lengths to ensure that the DS's 2006 remake of Final Fantasy III would remain faithful to its original incarnation in every way possible, and the music is no exception. Not many other composers of video game soundtracks would put as much raw emotion and effort into their work as these musical greats, but they stand as proof that a little effort goes a long way.
